The ‘Manse’ Ball Vase

Ball Vases have been in Magic as far back as we can remember and they never fail to please…
this particular vase has been made in the style of the early 19th Century when Turnery was a popular pastime for the  Landed Gentry, Church Ministers and Gentlemen, lathes were expensive and much of the turning of that time favoured local wood and plain styles, sharp definition of shoulders & ridges and a simple clean finish that showcased graining and the wood variety used… our new edition takes its name from the ‘dwelling’ of the local Minister ‘The Manse’…usually a well situated prominent house close to the Church… and very often where a well used Lathe could be found…

It has been a little while since Ball Vases featured in our Collection but after a number of requests to do so we are delighted to make this beautiful ‘Classic of Magic’ available again…this works in perfect harmony with the art of turnery, for the secret of this delightful piece of magical apparatus lies within the turned shoulders themselves…

This particular Ball Vase stands approx 5” in height with a 1½” Billiard Ball & Shell, a perfect size for intimate cabaret performances or after Dinner Entertainment with Family & Friends… made in African Sapeli (Mahogany) or similar Hard Wood Varieties subject to availability...
